Small Business Marketing Strategies To Close Out Your Sales Year Strong

Small Business Marketing For The Final Quarter

The “rush” to the end of the year is finally upon us as the final quarter has started. Most small businesses understand that the final few months of the year (as with all quarters) do play a role in profits. Of course, you’re going to want to end this sales year strong, but what if you could take some time to focus your small business marketing efforts on ways that would have your business looking even better by the next quarter? In this final quarter you can put some good marketing strategies to use to end this year with a bang. Two of the best ways to help your marketing efforts pay off are to focus on your client relationships and invest in SEO marketing to boost your business’ name on search engines.

Client Relationships: Connecting with your customers is the easiest way to gain their trust. Look for ways to make a personal connection with as many customers as possible. You could set up an automatic emailer to send out to customers who just visited your office and ask them for their personal feedback or review or your location. Responding to negative reviews with a possible solution is one way to build trust and hopefully keep the customer returning!

SEO Marketing: To really pull of a great search engine optimization marketing campaign it’s going to take a few months of hard work. The pay off for investing time into this small business marketing strategy is that your name will inch closer and closer to the top of important search engines on the internet, making customers that much more likely to choose your business over a competitor.

Some people may not think of marketing as being their answer to success, but it truly can ensure a successful quarter come 2018 and will make you feel better about your efforts towards the close of the current year. A good business planner knows that at times opportunities for change should be taken. Why not take a chance on small business marketing?

If you need help with your marketing efforts, Marketing 2 Point 0, Inc. is here to help. You may contact us with questions at 405-757-454.

Internet Marketing Principles- 2

Reflection Upon Our Adopted Internet Marketing Principles: Part 2

Drawing Inspiration From The Go-Giver For Urgent Care Marketing

In part one of this blog series we shared 2 out of 5 of the inspirational principles that we utilize in our everyday internet marketing business. These valuable lessons are plucked directly from the The Go-Giver, a book written by Bob Burg. Today, we want to reflect on the remaining 3 principles and how we have used them and continue to conduct much of our business with them in mind.

Law #3- The Law Of Influence: Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people’s interests first.

Simply put, people will do business with those they know, like, and trust. How did we do that? First, we did what we said we would do! Our internet marketing team never made false promises about what it was that we did for our small business owner customers. We also continue to put ourselves in their path rather than hiding in the background. We have regular meetings to ensure that our customers get to know us, understand what we’re doing, and begin to trust our word is good. Furthermore, we give the customers a chance to weigh in on marketing decisions regarding their businesses.

Law #4- The Law Of Authenticity: The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.

After all, what good is having the skills to perform without showing our true selves? Our internet marketing team strives to not only talk about what we can do, but we show that we truly know our stuff.

Law #5- The Law Of Receptivity: The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.

If you throw a ball into the air with an open hand, but then close your as the ball falls back down it’s probably going to hit you in the face! It’s a lot safer for you if you decide to try to catch that ball once it comes down. Much in the same way, when we throw out more of our internet marketing efforts for less than we take in payment that’s giving and we have to be open to accepting that the fruits of those labors will come full circle and provide for our business. That’s receiving.

These are the laws we follow and it’s made us humble in our internet marketing practices. If you’re a small business owner looking for a company that will work with you to help you make your vision for internet marketing happen, we’d be happy to help!

Internet Marketing Principles

Reflection Upon Our Adopted Internet Marketing Principles: Part 1

Drawing Inspiration From The Go-Giver For Internet Marketing

The truth is that since the founding of our internet marketing company we’ve always sought to do the “right thing” for our clients. The world of business is already so full of those who take payment, but do not satisfy their customers. We did not ever wish to be that kind of internet marketing company; thus, we started doing business by reading a book.

To this day we have held steadfast to the inspirational principles taught within the The Go-Giver, a wonderful book written by Bob Burg about several valuable business lessons. Today, we’d like to reflect on a few of the laws provided in the book and explain how we have accepted each of them into our own way of conducting our internet marketing business.

Law #1- The Law Of Value: Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.

Of course, to stay in business any company has to make money and it’s not a terrible thing to do in order to provide for the well-being of employees and sustain the business. The problem comes when business to business relationships are built solely on price and the providing business owner in the relationship does not care whether their customer survives in the end. To prevent this from happening, our internet marketing company has made it a point to put into practice the lesson of giving services for a fair price, but ultimately knowing the difference between price and value.

Law #2- The Law Of Compensation: Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.

Many times our customers have price shopped before settling on hiring us. They tell us they have found that our prices were very fair for what we’ve managed to accomplish for them in return. Our once humble beginnings started with just one company hiring us and after we helped them realize great success the word spread. Soon others started to find us. We believe that how well we served others was a testimonial in itself which has, in turn, guided others to seek out our services.

These are only the first 2 of 5 laws we follow and we’ll be talking more about the rest of them in our next post.

If you’re a small business owner looking for a company that will work with you to help you make your vision for internet marketing happen, we’d be happy to help!

Small Business Marketing- Kind Attitudes

Small Business Marketing Via Kind Attitudes From Your Staff

Small Business Marketing Isn’t All Online

When our business, (Marketing 2 Point 0, Inc.), was first launched we started with putting in the work necessary to bring small businesses to a higher ranking on Google. Since then, we’ve branched out a little more in the coaching side of things to really help business owners make their businesses a place that customers truly want to visit. After all, what good is a glowing online presence if when your customers walk in the door all they are greeted with is one ugly attitude after another?

One of our small business marketing services includes managing online reputations for our customers, but we do not wear the “black hat” in this situation. This means that we take the honest feedback from your customers that visit your place of business and we let you, the owner, know what is said when a negative review comes through.

From our small business marketing efforts we’ve come to realize that if these bad situations are never dealt with on a personal level, then it really doesn’t matter if the online presence shows that you’re doing wonderfully. Overtime, your customers will begin to realize this and they will stop coming if something isn’t done to correct negative situations!

Our marketing team encourages small business owners to listen to the honest feedback from their customers and try to correct the situation if they have something negative to say. For example, if reviews repeatedly come in declaring that the receptionist at your office was rude or appeared to “hate their job” then this should be addressed to avoid the same type of review from continuing.

Remember that it couldn’t be more important for you to maintain your small business marketing efforts by making sure that your hired staff try to present a kind attitude towards the customers visiting your establishment, because without them you wouldn’t be in business.

This is just a friendly reminder from our team to yours. Have a fabulous day and may you and your staff members remember to smile!

If you’d like to know more about small business internet marketing or business coaching, please feel free to give our team a call at 405-757-4540.

SEO- OU Campus Seminar- Internet marketing

Rob Stone Spoke About SEO At OU Web Communications Seminar

M2P0 Internet Marketing President Sharing SEO Facts

Back in January, Rob Stone was asked to speak on behalf of Marketing 2 Point 0, Inc. at a meeting hosted by Public Relations Society of America. That entire discussion centered around how to make sure that a business is relevant online in 2017. At that meeting a few members of OU’s web communications department asked Rob to come out and speak on campus.

It was on March 29,2017 that Rob unleashed some important facts and tips about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to the group of attendees. After some conversation we thought, perhaps, a lot of people may need help with their own websites, too. So, today we’re reflecting on the meeting (click here to read the OU article) and pointing out the following tips:

  • Relevancy starts with the content you write which should be geared toward your audience. Utilize vocabulary that can be easily understood by your target market while incorporating keywords for SEO purposes.
  • The articles/blogs should be at least 300 words, but not too much more than that with the inclusion of header tags.
  • The words written must be relevant! Do not just write nonsense to fill a page.
  • Utilize Flesch Reading Ease.
  • Choose your key phrase or phrases before writing the content (Google Keyword tool is helpful).
  • Use the key phrase in the first paragraph.
  • Use header tags.
  • Make sure key phrase is in the page title, URL, and Header tags.
  • Have clear visuals, audio or video when possible,  use links whenever necessary to credit outside resources.
  • All images need alt text and image titles that are SEO optimized.
  • Reduce all images to 72 DPI to increase page load speeds.
  • Website Encryption will be the new standard soon.
  • Design with function in mind first, not creativity.
  • Leverage Google’s featured content areas. (Local, News, Shopping, Videos, etc.)
  • Use Citation Flow and Trust Flow for link building.
  • When starting a new site look for an aged domain if possible.
  • Use Mobile friendly/ Responsive web design.
  • Use Google Webmaster Tools to Submit your site map.
  • Use Google Webmaster Tools to identify and correct crawl errors. Use 301 redirects as needed.
  • Integrate the website with your social media as often as possible. Consistent social activity and engagement is a factor.
  • Create new content on a consistent basis. Stay ahead of the competition with volume.
  • Don’t copy and paste content from other websites. Keep it 100% original.
  • Keep the codebase of the website up to date.
  • Setup a profile on https://en.gravatar.com/ and use it when creating articles.

Keeping up with everything connected to SEO can be too much for some small business owners to handle on their own. That’s where we come in! If you’re more of a visual learner and you’d like to know more, feel free to watch the seminar video.

If you’d like to speak with a representative of Marketing 2 Point 0, Inc. give us a call @ 405-757-4540. We’d be happy to schedule a time to talk with you about your website and marketing efforts.

Social Media- small business internet marketing

Internet Marketing: Using Clickbait Versus Piquing Genuine Interest

Does Your Social Media Internet Marketing Draw Customers In?

Anyone who regularly checks in on social media will tell you that when an important event occurs, just about everyone “reports” it. In fact, according to data collected from 2016, the Pew Research Center tells us that about 62% of adults in the United States get their news from social media! As social media becomes increasingly more of a go-to place for information of all kinds one thing that really has started to turn consumers off is clickbaiting. So, ask yourself does your internet marketing consist of posting headlines that will genuinely pique the interest of potential customers or are you posting clickbait?

If you’re not certain whether your internet marketing content on your social media pages is considered clickbait material or genuine material, we’ll help you to understand the difference, today.

Clickbait:

For journalists, writing clever headlines to grab the attention of readers used to be a true skill. These days any entity on social media can be considered a source of “news”, helpful information, or important data. Headlines are being used on social media to lure people into clicking on the proposed article, but if the content that follows isn’t what the headline makes it out to be then that is considered clickbait.

As a small business owner the last thing you want to do is “trick” your followers or potential customers by providing sensationalized or misleading headlines just for the sole purpose of getting more users to your website. Your internet marketing efforts aren’t worth the risk of diminishing your reputation. If you continue posting misleading material your followers will soon stop following you!

Genuine Interest:

You can still utilize psychological techniques to pique the curiosity of your readers. Increasing the “click” rate on an internet marketing social media post can be as simple as being less detailed in your headline. Here are a few example headlines:

  • Most customers have no idea this is true…
  • You’re not going to believe this…
  • This information could save you money…

The lines above are examples of drawing your customer in, but this only works if you attach those headlines to real data you’ve found to back up what you’re claiming is interesting. See the difference between clickbait and provoking genuine interest?

We hope so! Good luck with your social media posts!

The Importance Of Ongoing Internet Marketing

Why Small Business Internet Marketing Requires Upkeep

Whether you’re paying an internet marketing company to get your name ranked high on the front page of Google search results or you’re doing all the hard work yourself, you may find yourself wondering what happens if you stop. The fact is that doing things the “white hat way” and following all the rules means that it will, generally, take about 3-6 months before you start seeing your company name rise in rank so how long do you think it will take for you to drop off if you suddenly stopped small business internet marketing?

The truth is that it depends on how often Google crawls your site and reindexes the updates you’ve made to the website or lack thereof. The important thing to note is that Google can crawl and index information almost instantaneously in some instances. With that being said some small business internet marketing customers have noticed a drop off within a few days, or even weeks of their website going stale when they decided to stop putting effort into their marketing. One recent example of a marketing customer stopped services and slipped from page one to page two of Google within one week.

Why does the drop off happen so fast?

Think about all the small businesses you have for competition out in your region or even in the nation. If they are fighting for the same number one slot on Google results for <enter your company type here> and you suddenly stop fighting for your spot, then not only do all your past efforts go down the drain, so to speak, but in this scenario your competition gets a leg up in the race.

We know that small business internet marketing takes a lot of time to upkeep, but if you’re doing it we strongly urge you to stick with it. If you’ve been handling all of your internet marketing by yourself, but you can no longer handle those duties along with those of running your business operations, please feel free to contact our marketing team.

We can be reached by clicking here. Our team would love to help you maintain or reach the ranking on Google that you deserve!

Board Member Re-election 2017

Voting On The 2017 Bond For Edmond School District

Utilizing Your Right And Privilege To Vote

Many would agree that voting on important issues is simultaneously a right and a privilege. If you’re eligible to vote you should do so as it honors those who have put their lives on the line to protect that right to vote. Here, we’re not even talking about something as grand as the presidential election. Today, we want to shed light on the proposed Edmond Public School Bond Issue for 2017.

Why is so important to have your vote on this matter?

Four years ago an educational bond was voted upon and it passed. The law states that for this new bond issue to pass, the Edmond Public School district administrators and school board members would need at least 60% of the voters from the last educational bond issue to vote on this one. This is in an effort to have the majority vote and participate.

Why is a bond necessary?

Edmond Public Schools continues to grow by approximately 500 students each year. They must continue to add new facilities as well as maintain the existing ones to meet the demands of this rapid growth.

What does the bond propose?

Voting “yes” on this bond would help Edmond Public Schools to plan for current and future needs. A significant portion of the bond money would be used to complete the process of having storm shelters on every campus. Edmond’s unique approach includes building the spaces schools need (classrooms, gymnasiums, media centers or band rooms) and constructing those spaces to serve a dual purpose as a shelter. More specifically, every school in the district would benefit either by receiving new educational materials, building upgrades and additions, or safety and technology improvements.

Also, it’s important to note that it is anticipated that the 2017 bond issue will maintain a stable tax rate for Edmond Schools.

A lot of people may wonder about whether this bond money can be utilized to boost teacher salaries, but unfortunately, state law prohibits school districts from using bond funds for salaries.

Why are there two separate bond proposals, one for projects and one for transportation?

State law requires that the purchase of transportation equipment be listed as a separate bond proposition.

What other matters can be voted on for the February 14th, 2017 bond election?

You may also choose to vote for the re-election of Rob Stone as a Francis Tuttle board member, representing Zone 2 of the district. His role as board member started in October, 2016 as he finished out the position originally appointed to the now retired, Buddy Sanford. He has already brought his technological and business expertise to light on many board member issues.

Now, he is up for re-election and if he is appointed again he seeks to continue contributing to the educational realm utilizing his experience with technology, business, and passion for education. While Mr. Stone has been a member of the Edmond Chamber of Commerce and has campaigned for votes, he’d love to have your vote, too!

All registered voters who live within Edmond Public School district boundaries qualify to vote, including those residents who live outside the city limits of Edmond. Individuals should vote at their regular precincts. Please take the time to exercise your right and privilege to vote!
